FENS FRM 2017 Travel Grants

Amount to a maximum of 500 €

Ten travel grants have been generously contributed by the German Neuroscience Society.

Eligibility

  • The applicant must be 35 years of age or younger, at the time of application
  • The applicant is not residing or working in Hungary
  • Participation in the meeting with an abstract as first author

The application should contain the following materials:

  • Short CV
  • Publication list
  • Abstract of the presentation as first author
  • Two short letters of recommendation

Application Deadline: 30 April 2017

The FENS travel grants will be distributed in cash onsite at the FENS booth during the FRM 2017.
In order to claim your travel grant, it is mandatory that you present your ID card/passport/driver's license for verification of your identity at the FENS booth. 
In the absence of the proper identification papers, travel grants will not be given.

IBRO-PERC stipends

IBRO-FENS Regional Travel Grants aims to support young researchers working in the Pan-European region to attend and make presentations in the FENS Regional Meeting 

Amount to a maximum of 1200 €

Application Deadline: 30 April 2017 (11:59 p.m. CET - Europe/Paris time)

Eligibility:

  • The applicant must be 35 years of age or younger at the time of submitting the application.
  • The applicant should not be currently residing or working in Hungary.
  • Applicant must be presenting a poster at the meeting as first author.

At least one letter of reference is required. Failure to provide this will result in disqualification.

Austrian Neuroscience Association Travel Grant

The ANA awards 3 travel grants  for young scientists to attend the FRM2017.

Amount: 250€

Application Deadline: 15 May 2017

Please note that recipients of a FENS or an IBRO/PERC travel grant may not receive an ANA travel grant in addition. Applicants must be ANA Student Members in good standing and first author of an abstract submitted to the FRM. Informal applications including the abstract should be sent to the ANA Secretary Isabella Sarto Jackson: secretary@austrian-neuroscience.at. 

 
National Neuroscience Society of Romania Travel Grant

The National Neuroscience Society of Romania announces 3 travel grants for participation to FRM2017.

Amount: 300 €

Application Deadline: April 30 2017

Eligibility:

  • The applicant is a student, PhD student or Postdoctoral fellow younger than 35 years of age at the time of the application
  • The applicant is affiliated with a Romanian institution at the time of application
  • The applicant is a member in good standing of the National Neuroscience Society of Romania
  • The applicant is the first author of an abstract submitted to FRM2017

The following attachments are required:

  • A short CV including the publication list
  • A copy of the abstract submitted to FRM2017
  • A recommendation letter from the supervisor

Applications should be sent as a single email with all attachments to contact@snn.ro

The travel grants will be transferred to the recipients’ bank accounts after evidence of acceptance of the abstract to FRM2017 and if the applicant is not a recipient of a FENS/IBRO travel grant to attend FRM2017.

 

Neuroscience Ireland Travel Grant

Neuroscience Ireland are pleased to announce a Special Travel call to support young post-graduate and post-doctoral researchers intending to attend the FENS Regional Meeting.

Amount: 300€

Application Deadline: 30 April 2017

Please complete the form and include evidence of acceptance of your abstract as well as a letter from your supervisor/mentor for either a talk or oral presentation.

Applications should be emailed to: neuroscience.ireland@gmail.com with “FRM Special Travel bursary application” in the title.

 

Polish Neuroscience Society Travel Grant

PNS awards 2 travel grants to support participation of young scientists in FRM.  The stipend is intended to be used to assist towards travel and accommodation costs. 

Amount: 300€

Application Deadline: 31 March 2017

An applicant should meet to following criteria:

  • be a member of the Polish Neuroscience Society,
  • be a PhD student of at least the third year of her/his PhD studies, or a researcher in a Polish laboratory
  • be younger than 35 years,
  • be the first author of an abstract submitted to FRM,

Recipients will be selected by the PNS Executive Committee based on the scientific merit of the abstract submitted to the meeting and the strength of related application materials.

  • a cover letter justifying the application and a short description of the importance of results intended to be presented in FRM (max. 3000 characters and spaces)
  • CV with a list of original publications and conference abstracts
  • a copy of the abstract submitted to FRM
  • a recommendation letter from the supervisor

Prizes will be transferred to the fellows' bank accounts after FRM has ended on receipt of a certificate of attendance.

Please note that candidates may apply to several organizations but can not obtain several prizes or travel grants. Prizewinners of FENS or IBRO will not receive PNS travel grants.
